Overview
Working for the Council\’s Home Care Service, you will provide direct personal care to older people in their own homes across Midlothian, providing a range of support to enable and promote independence.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to older people in their own homes across Midlothian.
- Support independence and promote wellbeing.
- Work evenings and/or weekends as required.
Qualifications
- Experience of care work is desirable; preference given to candidates with an SVQ2 qualification in Social Care.
- Ability to respond to situations in a calm and flexible way; self-reliance in situations without direct supervision is desirable.
- Access to a vehicle for work purposes is desirable.
- Full training will be provided; previous experience is desirable but not essential.

- From regulated work with protected adults: PVG Scheme membership is required; you may need to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Update check prior to commencing employment. The cost is borne by you.
- Please note the Disclosure Scotland PVG certificate process and related timings.
