Teachers of the Midlothian Digital Campus will provide a high‑quality student experience through the planning and delivery of Advanced Higher courses. Courses on offer include Maths, English, French, Spanish, History and Modern Studies. Teaching will be delivered via synchronous online lessons and independent study resources. Professional learning in digital tools will be provided. The Depute Head Teacher of the Digital Campus will support all aspects of course delivery.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Advanced Higher curriculum in the areas listed above.
- Use synchronous online teaching formats to engage learners.
- Provide independent study resources and assessment support.
- Develop and maintain effective use of digital pedagogical tools.
- Liaise with the Depute Head Teacher for support and guidance.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Medical screening, two written references (one recent/current employer), verification of qualifications and eligibility to work in the UK.
- Registration with the General Teaching Council of Scotland (GTCS) for permanent posts.
- Compliance with Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007.
- PVG Scheme – Full membership £59; Record Update £18. Fees are repaid by salary deduction and outstanding balances are deducted from final salary if employment concludes early.
- Disclosures – Applicants must disclose unspent convictions. Failure to disclose may result in withdrawal of any offer of appointment.
