ABOUT THE ROLE
The Team Leader - Men's Programs is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day delivery of ARA's men's programs, including Connected Fathers Program, Stronger Men Stronger Families (SMSF), Men's community engagement initiatives and other men's programs developed by ARA.
The role combines team coordination, staff supervision, direct service delivery, community engagement and stakeholder liaison. The Team Leader provides operational guidance and practice support to staff while maintaining a small caseload and facilitating group programs.
The position promotes culturally responsive, trauma-informed and accountability-centered practice, with a strong focus on strengthening family wellbeing, promoting healthy relationships and maintaining the safety and wellbeing of women and children.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
Team Coordination, Supervision and Practice Support
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coordination and supervision to the Men's Programs Team.
- Allocate and monitor caseloads and provide ongoing support to team members.
- Provide practice guidance, coaching and reflective support to staff delivering case management and group programs.
- Support staff to manage complex client situations, risk concerns and challenging behaviours.
- Support recruitment, induction and onboarding of staff, students and volunteers.
Direct Service Delivery
- Maintain a small caseload of participants requiring additional support, coordination or intervention.
- Conduct intake, assessment, risk assessment and case planning processes.
- Deliver case management, individual support, group programs, workshops and community education.
- Support fathers and men to strengthen parenting skills, develop healthy relationships and address behaviours impacting family wellbeing.
- Coordinate referrals and support participants to access relevant health, housing, employment, legal and family services.
Community, Stakeholder and Program Development
- Build and maintain relationship with CALD communities, community leaders, faith leaders and community groups.
- Facilitate community engagement, education and consultation activities and represent ARA at relevant forums and events.
- Support collaborative and community-informed service delivery, including co-design approaches and partnership development.
- Monitor program activities, participation and outcomes, maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting, evaluation and continuous improvement.

ABOUT YOU
Qualification and Training Requirements:
Essential
- Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services, Human Services, Counselling or related discipline.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
Desirable
- Training in Domestic and Family Violence.
- Training in working with men who use violence.
- Training in Family Systems and/or Structural Family Therapy approaches.
- Training in Trauma-Informed Paractice.
- Training in Motivational Interviewing.
- Training in group facilitation and community engagement.
- Training in risk assessment and safety planning.
Skills and Capabilities:
Required skill
- Demonstrated ability to provide day-to-day supervision, support and coordination to staff.
- Ability to provide practice guidance, coaching and reflective support to practitioners.
- Strong understanding of domestic and family violence dynamics, coercive control and impacts of violence on women and children.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and work effectively with men who use, or are at risk of using, violence.
- Ability to facilitate group programs, workshops and community education sessions.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed, culturally responsive and strengths-based practice approaches.
Required Experience
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating service delivery, projects or teams within community services sector.
- Experience providing case management services to individuals and families with complex needs.
- Experience facilitating group programs, workshops or community education sessions.
- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
- Experience supporting individuals affected by trauma, settlement challenges, family conflict, social isolation or other complex needs.
Highly Desirable
- Experience working with men who use, or are at of using, violence.
- Experience in domestic and family violence, family support, parenting, settlement or men's programs.
- Experience supervising staff, students or volunteers.
- Lived migration, settlement, bicultural or community leadership experience.
- Fluency in one or more community languages relevant to ARA's client groups.
This role is offered as a permanent part-time position (0.8 FTE) and is classified at SCHADS Award Level 5.
