About us

The Industry School, formerly the AITC, is unlike any other senior school. We’re for young people who seek a deliberately different educational experience. An industry-driven one. For those who want to learn in the classroom, within workplaces, and on the job. We provide a unique two-to-three-year program for young people in Years 10 to 12 designed to progressively develop employability skills and achieve individualized learning goals while meeting the requirements of the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). Our aim is to seamlessly blend senior education and vocational training to engage young people in purposeful learning experiences that are relevant to the real world of industry.

About the role

We are now seeking a Teacher to join our Ipswich School and be part of our passionate and dynamic team to meet the needs of our young people and Industry Partners. This full-time permanent role will focus on delivering high quality vocational training in business, work readiness and HPE, building strong connections, inspiring confidence and empowering our young people to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering nationally recognised qualifications, including FSK20119 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways, ICT20120 Certificate II in Applied Digital Technologies and BSB30220 Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business.
  • Designing and implementing engaging learning experiences that align with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and RTO Standards 2015.
  • Facilitating hands-on training and providing real-world insights to enrich the student learning experience.
  • Maintaining and completing trainer profiles that map to the units being delivered.
  • Enhancing the well-being and holistic growth of young people through the development of supportive learning environments, quality communication, and effective classroom management.
  • Creating positive and proactive relationships with young people, parents, and staff that leads to a supportive and positive school community.

About You

A skilled educator or early career teacher you enjoy developing and mentoring young people to succeed in an industry-driven environment.

Essential skills and experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Current full QCT Registration.
  • Possession of one of the following qualifications: A Diploma or higher in Adult Education (e.g., TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education & Training) OR Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116, or TAE40110 with TAELLN411/401A and TAEASS502/502A/502B) OR TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering vocational education and training, with a strong understanding of AQF and RTO Standards 2015.
  • Willingness to attain relevant industry skills and vocational competency and actively engage in professional development to stay current with industry trends and teaching practices.
  • A current driver's licence.
  • Right to Work in Australia.

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching the following units: Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways, FSK20119 Certificate II in Applied Digital Technologies, ICT20120 Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business, BSB30220.
  • Hold a current Trainer Profile or ability to create a trainer profile that maps to the units being delivered.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering business qualifications OR equivalent industry expertise in business operations, entrepreneurship, or new venture development.
  • Experience running a business, sole proprietorship, or contracting, or supporting new venture establishment within an organisation.
  • Experience in training delivery in a VET or industry setting.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems.
