The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is responsible for protecting and managing one of Australia’s most iconic coastal landscapes. We care for parks, reserves and marine environments along the Great Ocean Road, including internationally recognised visitor sites. Working closely with Traditional Owners, communities and stakeholders, we protect environmental, cultural and heritage values while supporting sustainable visitation and long‑term conservation.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of major capital works projects along one of Australia’s most iconic coastlines. As Senior Project Manager, you will oversee projects from concept through to completion, ensuring high-quality outcomes that balance community needs, environmental protection, and cultural heritage considerations. Working within the Capital Works Team, you will play a key role in delivering infrastructure across parks, coastal assets, public amenities, and visitor experiences, while contributing to strategic planning and organisational objectives.
What you’ll do:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of major capital works projects, often exceeding $10M
- Manage project scope, budget, timelines, risk, and quality outcomes
- Administer and supervise design and construction contracts
- Prepare tender documentation and manage procurement processes
- Oversee consultants and contractors to deliver tender-ready designs and construction outcomes
- Drive stakeholder engagement with community, government agencies, and funding partners
- Deliver high-quality reporting including project updates, board papers, and financial reporting
- Develop business cases, project briefs, and governance documentation
- Ensure compliance with OHS, cultural heritage, planning, and environmental requirements
- Mentor and support team members, contributing to capability development across the organisation
What we’re looking for:
- Degree qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Management or similar
- Extensive experience managing complex capital works projects (5+ years), ideally in civil or building environments
- Strong capability in contract administration, procurement, and financial management
- Proven experience delivering projects in sensitive or coastal environments (desirable)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Strong reporting, risk management, and project governance expertise
- Ability to lead, mentor, and influence within a collaborative team environment
- White Card and current driver’s licence
