The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is responsible for protecting and managing one of Australia’s most iconic coastal landscapes. We care for parks, reserves and marine environments along the Great Ocean Road, including internationally recognised visitor sites. Working closely with Traditional Owners, communities and stakeholders, we protect environmental, cultural and heritage values while supporting sustainable visitation and long‑term conservation.

The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (GORCAPA) is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking ICT Manager to lead and evolve our technology environment. Based in Torquay, this full-time ongoing role sits within the Corporate Services Directorate and plays a critical part in shaping and delivering our ICT strategy. Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, you will provide strategic advice and leadership to ensure GORCAPA’s ICT systems are secure, efficient and aligned with organisational priorities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the sustainability and stewardship of one of Australia’s most iconic coastal regions through innovative and effective use of technology.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the development and ongoing review of GORCAPA’s ICT Strategy
  • Oversee the management, maintenance and scalability of ICT infrastructure, systems and applications
  • Identify and implement technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and support strategic objectives
  • Manage relationships with external ICT service providers to ensure strong service delivery outcomes
  • Lead ICT projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope and aligned to organisational goals
  • Drive cyber security and data protection initiatives in line with public sector standards
  • Develop and manage ICT budgets, procurement and vendor contracts
  • Build and maintain effective records and data management systems
  • Lead, mentor and support a small ICT team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards

What we’re looking for:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in ICT or a related discipline
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience managing ICT environments, ideally within the public sector
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing organisational ICT strategies
  • Strong leadership capability with experience managing and developing teams
  • Proven experience in budgeting, procurement and contract management
  • Solid understanding of cyber security, data protection and regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders
  • Highly organised, proactive and outcomes-focused approach
