Role
Reporting to a Project Manager, you will provide the experience and expertise necessary to ensure successful completion of mechanical installations in compliance with current legislation at facilities in the East Midlands and on occasion more widely throughout the UK. You will assist in coordinating the labour resources and materials required for completion of projects and provide close supervision of a team of fellow Installation Technicians and associated trades.
About You
Already an experienced professional and with experience managing a small team of engineers, you will demonstrate broad capabilities in all aspects of mechanical installation, testing, and completion of the associated mandatory documentation as well as strong day to day supervisory skills developed through your time working in a similar industrial sector. You will have experience of site surveying to support the development of proposals and subsequent planning of installations.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, modify and repair a variety of mechanical systems and equipment
- Communicate and adopt safe systems of work (RAMS)
- Observe the requirements of any Permit to Work issued by site Duty Holders
- Determine efficient work procedures and techniques
- Engage in the determination of work rotas and assignment of tasks
- Assess tasks for completeness and report any issues or variations
- Complete installation test reports and job documentation
- Ensure all tools and equipment in use is certified and/or calibrated
- Maintain positive relationships with client representatives and other third parties
- Undertake specialist training as required and keep up to date with statutory and legislative requirements
- Demonstrate and apply the principles of continuous improvement to achieve ‘Best Practice’
Job requirements
- You will need +5 years experience of industrial mechanical installations including Conveyors, Pneumatics and general fitting work.
- A good understanding of interlocks & safety circuits, mechanical schematics/drawings and be comfortable working from layout drawings
- Clean Driving Licence
- A comprehensive toolkit for completing mechanical installations including cordless tools
- Experience using IT software for job planning and time sheets
- Experience of rigging and slinging / Overhead Crane
- Experience of drafting Risk assessments and Method Statements Including Lift Plans
- Experienced in mechanical/piping fabrication, steel structures and mechanical-civil interfaces.
- Experience of working on own initiative
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- To be a team player and customer focused
- Flexibility to work away as required

- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (Required)
- CSCS safety card or equivalent (Required)
- Overhead Crane Training / Rigging / Slinging (Required)
- RTITB FLT licence (Desirable)
- MEWP Safety Training Card, IPAF 3a, 3b or equivalent (Desirable)
- SSSTS (Desirable)
