Role
Reporting to the Mechanical Project Manager and/or associated Project Engineer, you will provide various skills, competencies and capabilities supporting Mechanical and Electrical installation activities for the successful delivery of projects of varying size and complexity and in compliance with current legislation.
About You
Already an experienced worker, you will demonstrate broad capabilities in the welding and fabrication of electrical containment systems and small stainless-steel support structures in a similar industrial sector. In addition, you will have broad experience and knowledge of site safety and mechanical installations from working independently and as part of a team.

Locations: Hinckley, Leicestershire and various client sites across the East Midlands and UK
Key Responsibilities
- Support the installation, maintenance, modification and repair of a variety of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Support Project Managers and Project Engineers in their preparation of quotes.
- Adopt safe systems of work (RAMS).
- Observe the requirements of any Permit to Work issued by site Duty Holders.
- Follow efficient work procedures and techniques.
- Engage in the determination of work rotas and assignment of tasks.
- Assess tasks for completeness and report any issues or variation.
- Ensure all tools and equipment in use are certified and/or calibrated.
- Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and other third parties.
- Undertake specialist training as required.
- Demonstrate and apply the principles of continuous improvement to achieve ‘Best Practice’.
Job requirements
You will need:
- +5-years’ experience in MIG & TIG welding and fabrication demonstrable by associated qualifications and training.
- Light welding and general fabrication experience for electrical containment systems and associated stainless steel support structures.
- Ability to work from technical drawings.
- Be capable of drafting simple fabrication drawings for customer acceptance.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good understanding of current H&S requirements for welding and other hot works.
- MEWP operator experience.
- Good communication skills.
- To be a team player.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Qualifications and Licences
NVQ Level 2 or Equivalent or Suitable Accreditation in Welding/Fabrication
CSCS or ECS Card - Mechanical/Welding and Fabrication Discipline (Desirable)
SPA Food & Drink Safety Passport (Desirable)
MEWP Safety Training Card, IPAF 3a, 3b or equivalent (Desirable)
