Elmhurst is currently recruiting for a new team member to join our Training Department. As Training Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused training service that supports both organisational priorities and industry standards. You’ll shape and lead the training function by identifying needs, developing and refining programmes and materials, and ensuring training is delivered professionally across multiple formats. Working closely with senior leaders, managers, and external providers, you’ll align the training strategy with wider business objectives while upholding Elmhurst’s values of integrity, fairness, and customer value, helping position Elmhurst as a trusted leader in the industry.

What can I expect to do in the role? You’ll lead, mentor, and develop the training team to maintain a high-performing operation, ensuring effective use of systems, facilities, and resources. On a day-to-day basis you will oversee the full training experience, coordinating classroom, online/remote, and on-demand LMS delivery; managing enquiries, front-of-house support, and complaints; and maintaining consistently high service standards. You’ll also manage the commercial and operational side of the function by setting course pricing and promotions, managing budgets, and appointing and overseeing subcontractors to provide specialist expertise or additional capacity. Alongside this, you’ll support new training products and business initiatives, build strong relationships with stakeholders and partners, and represent Elmhurst professionally across the industry.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a training or education management role
  • Experience working with awarding bodies and qualification standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and dedication to customer service
  • Strong organisational, time management and leadership skills

While not essential, the following would be advantageous:

  • Knowledge of energy assessment and retrofit schemes (e.g., EPCs, DEC, SAP, Retrofit Assessor, Retrofit Coordinator etc.)
  • Experience working within an accreditation or certification body
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation (e.g., safeguarding, GDPR, consumer protection laws)
