Elmhurst is currently recruiting for a new team member to join our Learning and Development Team.

The Technical Assessor/Advisor plays a key part in helping Elmhurst remain the leading training and qualification provider in the energy performance industry. This role involves assessing, supporting, and developing learners while promoting Elmhurst’s external training services. As an advocate for the business, you’ll contribute to our mission of becoming the top independent provider of building energy performance training and qualifications.

What can I expect to do in the role?

  • You’ll be expected to deliver excellent customer service, acting professionally, communicating clearly, and responding to learners in a timely and helpful manner. Every interaction should make learners feel supported and confident throughout their training experience with us.
  • A large part of the role includes providing technical advice and guidance—mainly through assessment feedback, phone calls, and emails.
  • You’ll also manage learner progress using our online portfolio system.

If you’re not already qualified as a Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA), don’t worry—full accredited training will be provided. Future opportunities for development may include gaining the A1 CAVA Assessing qualification and other credentials aligned with business needs, such as OCDEA, NDEA, Retrofit Assessor, and Retrofit Coordinator.

While not essential, the following would be advantageous:

  • A background in telephone or customer support, even from a different industry
  • A Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Energy Assessment (DEA) or a related energy assessment/retrofit qualification
  • A Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA)
