Founded in 1912, Elmelin is a specialist industrial insulation manufacturer based in Walthamstow, East London. We manufacture specialist heat insulation products using the raw material Mica. We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to influence process improvement, developing quality standards, improving equipment performance and developing maintenance planning and strategy.
What You'll Do:
- Develop, review, and improve manufacturing processes to ensure process safety, process stability, equipment reliability, and site quality compliance
- Create and maintain Process Control Plans, Process Flow documentation, and SOPs
- Lead and support risk assessments, safe systems of work, and capability studies
- Work closely with Maintenance and Manufacturing teams to ensure maintenance, inspection, and calibration activities support process capability and product quality
- Support capital investment, capacity planning, and engineering proposals, including cost estimation
- Drive improvements in efficiency, reliability, and product quality using Continuous Improvement tools
What We're Looking For:
A self-motivated, organised engineer with strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively across operations, maintenance, and quality. Confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels and influencing to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
Essential: HNC or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Electronics, or Chemical Engineering
Desirable: Experience in a similar role within a complex manufacturing environment. Experience with process control and process improvement. Risk assessment experience, ideally in a high-hazard or process industry. IOSH or NEBOSH Certificate.
