This is an excellent opportunity for a proven project manager with experience in groundworks or civil engineering to join our growing, successful organisation. The Role
As a Regional Project Manager, you will lead the delivery and growth of our groundworks projects across Northern England, acting as the senior operational representative for the region. You will take strategic ownership of projects valued between £150k and £2m, ensuring they are delivered safely, to project timescales and the highest quality standards. Overseeing a number of Site Managers, you will ensure projects are properly resourced, review programmes, and identify risks early to maintain consistent delivery. Alongside this, you will take responsibility for commercial performance across the region, protecting margins, reviewing budgets against tender allowances, and working closely with the commercial team to support pricing, variations, and subcontractor strategy.
Additionally, you will:
- Build and maintain long‑term relationships with key regional clients
- Conduct regular site visits
- Monitor cash flow, payment applications and aged debt
- Support pre‑construction and tender reviews
- Mentor Site Managers and develop staff across the region
- Represent us in client meetings and performance reviews
About You
To be considered as a Regional Project Manager, you will need:
- At least five years’ experience within groundworks or civil engineering projects (subcontractor-side preferred)
- A proven track record of managing multiple projects and regional project delivery
- Strong commercial negotiation and cost control skills
- A commercially focused, autonomous approach with a business‑owner mindset
- A full, valid UK driving licence
