We're looking for a dynamic individual to step into the role of Digital Development Manager for a 7-month fixed term period.

This is a great opportunity to lead our Digital Development Team and help drive forward our digital, data and automation work across the council.

About the role

In this role, you'll:

  • Lead, support and develop the Digital Development Team, helping build capability and confidence across digital, data and emerging technologies.
  • Oversee digital transformation projects, system upgrades and service improvements across the organisation.
  • Make strong use of data and analytics to inform decision-making, improve service delivery and support council priorities, including developing data models, improving data quality and strengthening our reporting and insight tools.
  • Work closely with services to understand user needs and translate them into effective digital solutions and improved processes.
  • Ensure our business systems are reliable, secure, well-supported and compliant.
  • Evaluate, test and introduce AI and automation tools where they can add value, ensuring solutions are ethical, secure and aligned with organisational needs.
  • Provide advice on emerging technologies and help shape how we use them to modernise services.
  • Develop the team's readiness capabilities for Local Government Reorganisation.
