Asset Management and Property Services (AMPS) team needs an experienced, committed and pragmatic person to cover the Estates team during maternity leave. The team comprises approximately 20 people working in Building Surveying, Facilities Management, and Estates. The Estates portfolio is divided into two broad areas – Investment Portfolio and Operational Portfolio – each with assets totalling approximately £100M. The operational portfolio allows delivery of services and activities for council residents, while the investment portfolio contains strategic assets held for long‑term investment and revenue income.
Responsibilities
- Focus on all aspects of asset management within the operational portfolio, including commercial property and community assets such as commons, cemeteries, open spaces, allotments and recreation grounds.
- Handle cases relating to easements, rights of way, encroachments, wayleaves, granting of licences, FIO’s, and day‑to‑day estate matters.
- Contribute to the 5‑year Asset Management Plan (2024‑2029).
- Work independently or collaboratively with the Estates team to meet project and service delivery objectives.
Qualifications
- Surveying degree.
- Active membership of RICS.
- Experience in property law and landlord/tenant practice.
- Experience in valuation practice and investment property markets and trends.
- Understanding of the RICS Red Book.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload while supporting team priorities.
- Excellent communication skills with team members and stakeholders.
- Commitment to delivering quality service.
