Elm Tree Medical Centre is recruiting for a Salaried GP, bringing with it an attractive remuneration package! Due to an increased patient list size at the practice, we are seeking to recruit a Salaried GP to join our well-organised, progressive practice team. Elm Tree welcomes experienced colleagues for this interview. The Salaried GP we are seeking is a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with a strong work ethic who thrives on working as part of a democratic team and has professional conduct that encourages quality practice and the development of team spirit.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will carry out all the duties reasonably expected of an NHS general practitioner using the standards expected by the GMC and RCGP in line with appropriate national and/or local guidelines. Duties to include:
- F2F Patient consultations.
- Telephone consultations.
- Dealing with queries.
- Checking/signing repeat prescriptions.
- Admin filing of bloods/letters - Timely assessment of incoming electronic and paper correspondence relating to patient information as required.
- Using the appropriate electronic systems.
- Supportive and collaborative team-working and participation in regular meetings.
- No home visits.
- Adhere to the practice prescribing formulary, local and national guidelines.
- Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
- Record clear and contemporaneous I.T. based notes to agreed standards in patient records.

Elm Tree Surgery is a popular, high performing training practice with a growing patient list size of 18.5k situated in Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees. You will be joining a team of 5 GP partners, 7 Salaried GPs, Nurse Practitioner, Paramedic, a Clinical Pharmacist and a team of Practice Nurses and HCAs, who are supported by Management and the Admin Reception Team. Job responsibilities
We are looking for a Salaried GP to become a key member of the Practice team. Job description will include:
- 4-6 sessions total.
- Working days to include a Tuesday and Thursday.
- Clinical time: HUB duty - triage incoming patient requests and signpost and deal with as appropriate.
- Filing of Bloods and letters with the necessary required action.
- Clinic when required.
- Support with SpR debriefs and tutorials.
- Support with 1st/2nd year medical students.
- Care homes duty and ward round.
- Take the lead on Safeguarding and conduct MDT meetings in this respect.
- Take the lead on Palliative care and conduct MDT meetings in this respect.
- Private letters - provide non-NHS documents requested by patients for third parties.
- Support with Quality Outcome Framework Immunisations.
- CQC - Quality Assurance & Audits: Regularly conducting audits and maintaining evidence portfolios.
- Be involved in complaints investigations and clinical governance procedures when required.
- Quality improvement work including visualisation, audits, documentation, and embedding learning across the practice.
- Option to attend PCN meetings where required.
- Regular involvement in management meetings chairing or supporting/leading where needed.
- Managing a wide range of presenting health care needs in a primary care setting.
- Commitment to providing high quality Primary Care to patients along with a genuine interest in the future development of General Practice.
In accordance with the practice agreed sessions, the post-holder will undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, and providing health education. Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols. Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards. Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary whenever this is clinically appropriate.

Person Specification
Qualifications:
- MBBS
- MRCGP Qualifications
Experience:
- A medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register.
- Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983.
- Qualified General Practitioner (completed certificate of Completion of Training CCT).
- Currently on NHS Performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical register.
- DBS clearance.
- Evidence of time-relevant revalidation/appraisal cycle.
- Experience of working in primary care/GP Practice.
