The opportunity The Communications and Engagement Officer will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to deliver integrated communications activity that aligns with strategic objectives, strengthens reputation, and supports employee engagement.

This is a varied and hands‑on communications role within a small, collaborative team, contributing to both internal and external communications while supporting stakeholder engagement activity.

You will support the delivery of impactful communications campaigns, create engaging content, support media relations, and build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Main responsibilities Develop and deliver integrated internal and external communications activities and contribute to communications planning.

Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and support engagement initiatives.

Create engaging content across a range of channels, including websites, social media, newsletters, briefings, and campaign materials.

Prepare briefing materials and stakeholder communications for senior leaders.

Monitor, analyse and evaluate communications activity, using data and insights to inform future campaigns and engagement strategies.

Experience within life sciences, healthcare, innovation or policy‑led sectors would be advantageous.

Key skills and experience required Proven stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with an understanding of media relations and communications planning.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.

Experience delivering both internal and external communications campaigns across multiple channels.

Strong copywriting and briefing skills, with a talent for storytelling and translating complex information into clear, compelling content.

Confident using digital communications platforms and content production tools to support communications objectives.

Highly organised and proactive, able to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively.
