This is a three month contract to advise and support a leading professional membership body. This membership body needs to recruit an Interim Public Affairs professional, for an initial three month contract, to advise and support the team and draft high-quality speeches.
Main responsibilities include:
Lead in the implementation and evaluation of the speechwriting strategy
Ensure consistency and relevance across a range of audiences, in support of the policy and communications objectives within the business’ plans
Finding new platforms for the Chief Executive, President and Office Holder team to speak at, and drafting their speeches, presentations, articles and other communications
Support the development and implementation of the Society’s external stakeholder engagement plan, alongside establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
Required skills and experience include:
Experience in speechwriting is essential
Proven experience in a policy, public affairs or communications environment or in a communications role
Research experience and the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and impactful way
The ability to understand a wide range of issues, work at a strategic level and be able to grasp essential details quickly
