Job Description:
One of the UK’s largest professional bodies representing a significant part of the UK’s industry is seeking to develop their climate change policy position. They are looking for someone to join as soon as possible for an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension.
Working on low-carbon and environmental issues, you will help develop their climate change policy and present those positions externally.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop relationships as the principal contact with government departments and agencies, respond to consultations and parliamentary inquiries.
- Update members on policy developments, gather their views, and help shape future policy work, presenting industry views to UK and EU policymakers.
- Manage environmental, climate, and energy policy committees.
Key skills and experience:
- Specialist knowledge and experience in climate and environmental policy areas.
- Excellent understanding of UK and European legislative and parliamentary processes.
