Job Description:

One of the UK\’s leading membership organisations has a need to recruit an Interim Regional Manager to provide urgent internal secondment cover. With a focus on membership engagement and development within the East Midlands region and working as part of a wider regional network, the role will focus on raising the profile and influence of the organisation – through the growth of the membership base, development of the existing network and through maximising member retention opportunities.

The role reports to the Regional Director and will work closely with colleagues in sales and marketing to align membership development activity and maximise engagement opportunities. With a focus on face-to-face membership engagement, the role will suit a strong relationship developer with excellent communications, client management and influencing expertise.

Key responsibilities:

  • To work in partnership with the business development, marketing teams, and with member companies, to acquire new members, leveraging local networks as appropriate
  • To work in partnership with the business development, marketing and business services teams to generate incremental revenues from existing members in the region
  • To coordinate the “on boarding” of new members to ensure the organisation deliversagainst their expectations
  • To engage proactively with members, via both 1-1 visits and events, to ensure that members are aware of the full range ofservices provided,and feel they are getting value from their membership, focusing in particular on “at risk” members
  • To work in partnership with the finance team to ensure that membership fees in are collected in full and in a timely manner
  • To work with the Region Director to identify potential sources of business support available both nationally and locally, ensuring that members in the East Midlands area are aware of these and helping members to access them
  • To work with the Region Director to ensure that East Midlands Area member views are fed into the organisation\’snational policy activity, via the regional advisory board, via regional member events and by ensuring that members are involved in appropriatepolicy briefings and events

Starting ASAP for 6 months, this is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your membership management expertise through working with a large scale, leading UK organisation which operates in the manufacturing / infrastructure space. Suitable candidates must demonstrate strong commercial acumen and well-developed negotiation skills. This role will be based near Melton Mowbray or Cambridge in the East Midlands, with frequent travel across the region.
