Due to an exciting period of growth and change, this professional membership body is now seeking to recruit an Interim Head of Corporate Communications with strong leadership experience on an initial 6 month basis. This is a newly created position, and as Interim Head of Corporate Communications you will be responsible for leading an integrated communications strategy, as well as developing ambitious campaign strategies, with responsibility for leading expert and dedicated teams across PR, social media and research.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Lead on the development and implementation of an integrated communications and brand strategy to significantly raise the public profile of the organisation.
- Oversee and manage all external communications channels and outputs including reports, PR, and social media.
- Provide leadership and guidance for a cross-functional team of nine with a broad remit of skills and responsibility.
To be considered for the position of the Head of Corporate Communications, you must have the following:
- Experience as a Senior Communications Professional within a corporate communications environment and ability to manage the whole communications mix, including research, PR, social media and corporate affairs.
- A track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with key business journalists.
- Exceptional communication skills adept at working with the media, key stakeholders and political audiences to further the organisation’s interests.
- Highly developed decision-making skills.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Experience of advising, collaborating with and influencing senior stakeholders on strategic issues.
- Experience of communicating through intense periods of change and complexity.
- Ability to execute complex change management plans.
- Ability to handle crisis communications.
- People management experience with ability to engage at all levels and adapt management style as required.
