Ellwood Atfield are partnered with the Youth Futures Foundation to appoint an External Affairs Lead to join their high-performance team on a 6 month FTC basis.

About Youth Futures Foundation:
Youth Futures Foundation is the What Works Centre for youth employment, dedicated to addressing disparities in youth employment for marginalized groups. Their mission is to ensure all young people can access and maintain quality jobs. Established in 2019 as an independent, not-for-profit organization, they drive systemic change through grant funding programs and evidence-based policy advocacy.

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly effective senior external affairs professional. As the Strategic External Affairs Lead, you will work closely with the Director of Policy & Communications to drive key strategic priorities and projects in 2024. This fixed-term role requires exceptional skills in communications, public affairs, stakeholder relations, and strategic project management. The job will be initially for 6 months on an FTC basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Develop and execute an integrated external affairs and advocacy plan for 2024, leveraging their assets to lead the thought leadership agenda on youth employment.Oversee external influencing themes for youth employment and marginalized young people, including mental health, apprenticeships, and early NEET prevention.Support engagement and communications for their forthcoming \’What Works\’ manifesto for youth employment.
  • Integrated Policy & Communications Directorate: Set up project management processes to ensure the smooth running of the directorate.Define and oversee partnership approaches for key aspects of their work.Assist with budget management, resource planning, and reporting activities.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Manage key senior relationships, including with fellow Youth Employment Group (YEG) organizations.Design and commission strategic stakeholder mapping work.Establish internal processes for managing and sharing stakeholder engagement.
