Who you are
We’re looking for a commercially driven Trading Manager to lead our Trading Team and deliver our commercial strategy. This is a key leadership role where you’ll drive performance across pricing, product lifecycle management, promotions, and lead supplier relationships ensuring we hit budget expectations and continue to grow.
You’ll work closely with Category Managers, Buyers, and the Digital team to maximise trading opportunities, optimise stock, support new product launches, and enhance overall category performance. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the commercial strategy as agreed with the Head of Trading & Digital Marketing across the trading team.
- Work with the Category Managers and Buyers to improve product lifecycle management.
- Maintain stock valuation within agreed budgets and reduce obsolete/slow moving stock.
- Negotiate supplier revenue, enhanced trading terms and promotional support with senior supplier contacts.
- Deliver web and category growth initiatives with support from the Head of Trading & Digital Marketing.
- Coordinate promotional and launch activity with the Digital Team to maximise online impact.
- Manage the communication flow to sales channels for new brands and new products.
Leadership
- Lead, Motivate and inspire the team to achieve KPIs and test new ideas.
- Ensure the trading team are focussed on implementing category management principles and supply chain/stock disciplines.
- Lead by example, challenge existing processes and encourage continuous improvement.

Hours of work
The hours of work are 39 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 5.00pm Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm.
Hybrid working, two days in the office, three working from home.
