We're seeking a Senior Healthcare and Laboratory Buyer to source, negotiate, and manage essential materials and equipment for both laboratory and clinical operations. Working closely with the Head of Procurement, this role ensures timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisitions. It's a key opportunity to support cutting-edge research in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement of healthcare and laboratory products and services
- Collaborate with Legal Services for timely contract reviews and negotiate key commercial terms with suppliers
- Work with internal departments to forecast demand and ensure timely delivery
- Maintain strong internal and vendor relationships; evaluate supplier performance regularly
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations, including FDA, GxP, and other relevant standards
- Analyse market trends and supplier conditions to inform purchasing decisions
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including pricing, inventory, contracts, and shipping documents
- Stay current on regulatory guidelines and best practices for procurement in clinical and laboratory settings
Requirements
Essential & Desirable Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Educated to a minimum of BSc in a relevant field e.g. Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Business Studies, Supply Chain Management.
- Hold minimum CIPS Level 4 qualification
- Minimum of 5 years working in a similar role
- Experience working with laboratory reagents, consumables, equipment, and clinical trial supplies is highly preferred
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and regulatory requirements related to procurement in scientific settings
- Experience with procurement software, ERP systems, and inventory management tools is desirable
