About The Role
As a Clinical Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in enabling high-impact clinical research and AI-driven healthcare innovation. You will work at the intersection of clinical science, data, and technology - ensuring that complex clinical datasets are reliable, well-governed, and analysis-ready. Leveraging your expertise in clinical data standards, data quality, and regulatory requirements, you will support the end-to-end use of clinical data across research, analytics, and machine learning initiatives. Acting as a trusted partner to clinicians, researchers, data engineers, and ML experts, you will help translate clinical questions into robust data assets that drive meaningful insights and patient impact.
This is an opportunity to shape how clinical data is curated, governed, and used at scale - contributing directly to transformative, data-driven healthcare research in a fast-moving and mission-driven environment.
Day-to-Day, you might:
- Profile and assess new clinical datasets to evaluate structure, completeness, standards alignment (e.g., CDISC, OMOP, FHIR), and suitability for research and AI applications.
- Design and execute data quality checks for clinical data, identifying inconsistencies, missingness, and anomalies, and working with stakeholders to resolve issues in line with regulatory expectations.
- Develop and maintain rich metadata, data dictionaries, and clinical annotations to ensure datasets are interpretable, reproducible, and reusable by multidisciplinary teams.
- Collaborate closely with clinicians, clinical researchers, biostatisticians, data engineers, and ML teams to align data structures and definitions with study objectives and analytical needs.
- Support the design and implementation of clinical data models and pipelines that harmonise data from multiple sources into a trusted, analysis-ready foundation.
- Ensure clinical data handling aligns with applicable regulations and best practices (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, GCP), supporting auditability, privacy, and ethical use of data.
- Stay current with evolving clinical data standards, real-world evidence methodologies, and healthcare analytics best practices to continuously improve data quality and usability.
- Educate teams on clinical data standards, governance, and best practices, helping to build a strong, data-literate research culture.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- You hold a BS or MS in a relevant field (e.g., biomedical science, health informatics, statistics, data science, computer science, or related discipline).
- You bring strong experience working with clinical or healthcare data, including in clinical data analysis roles.
- You have hands-on experience with clinical data standards and models (e.g., CDISC SDTM/ADaM, OMOP, FHIR, ICD, SNOMED, LOINC).
- You are highly proficient in SQL and experienced in querying and transforming large, complex clinical datasets.
- You have a strong understanding of data privacy, ethics, and regulatory requirements in healthcare and clinical research (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, GCP).
- You are comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams, translating clinical and research needs into clear data requirements.
- You are a clear, confident communicator who can explain complex data concepts to diverse audiences.
- You thrive in fast-paced, research-driven environments and are motivated by the opportunity to improve healthcare outcomes through data.
It would also be great if you had:
- Familiarity with Python or R for clinical data analysis, validation, or automation.
- Experience with data visualisation or reporting tools for clinical insights.
- Exposure to machine learning or AI projects using clinical or healthcare data.
