We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Assistant within our Wills, Trusts & Probate department. This role is a full time role working out of our Swanage office.

You will be working within a dynamic environment that has a fun and supportive culture. We strive to provide a high quality service to our clients and to continuously develop.

Carla Brown is the head of the Wills, Trusts & Probate team and is ranked in Band 1 in the Chambers & Partners High Net Worth Guide (Southampton and Surrounds 2026) for Private Wealth Law.

Main Responsibilities as a Legal Assistant

  • Provide professional assistance to one lawyer
  • Manage diaries and book appointments
  • Take initial enquiries and allocate them appropriately within the department
  • Assist in communication with clients, taking telephone calls and accurately recording messages and providing assistance wherever possible
  • Use of Practice Evolve case management system
  • Open and close files
  • Storage and retrieval of documents
  • To provide some audio typing using Big Hand
  • Provide such general secretarial/administrative activities as are required
  • Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally
  • Impeccable organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Good knowledge of Word and Excel
