About the Opportunity
Join a leading financial planning firm in London seeking a Trainee Protection Specialist to join their in-house advisory team. This is an exciting entry-level role with the opportunity to work towards a formal protection qualification and build a long-term career as a Protection Specialist. You will work closely with the firm’s Lead Protection Adviser, managing client documentation, drafting suitability reports, and learning the full process behind delivering high-quality, compliant protection advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Contact: Support the Protection Specialist by booking client appointments and following up on documentation.
- Case Management: Take ownership of client files, ensuring all applications and supporting documents are accurate and complete.
- Suitability Report Preparation: Assist with drafting and reviewing reports for clients, under the guidance of the Protection Specialist.
- Communication & Liaison: Interact with clients, insurers, underwriters, and third parties professionally and efficiently.
- Systems & Administration: Learn and become proficient in the firm’s systems, including Salesforce, My Practice, Aptus, iBusiness, IRESS, and provider portals.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all tasks are completed in line with FCA regulations and internal procedures.
- Pipeline Management: Track progress on client cases, highlight issues or delays, and support the Protection Specialist in keeping everything on schedule.
Skills & Knowledge Required
- Previous office or client support experience is helpful but not essential - full training provided.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a structured, professional environment.
- Enthusiasm for building a career in financial services, with a long-term focus on protection advice.
Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working: up to 3 days in the office after probation.
- Full-time: 9 am - 5 pm.
