Job Title: Administrative Assistant

Location: Abbeyfield School, Northampton

Salary: Grade E, Point 4-5 - £25,185 to £25,583 FTE (£23,884.33 to £24,262.00 actual yearly salary).

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: 37 hours, 43 weeks per year

About You:

As the Administrative Assistant at Abbeyfield School, you will be an organised, proactive and professional individual who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys supporting others. With excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail, you will confidently manage a range of administrative responsibilities while providing a welcoming and positive experience for students, families, visitors and colleagues. You will be someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality work, handles sensitive information with discretion, and can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining exceptional standards. Most importantly, you will be committed to supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of Abbeyfield School and helping to create an environment where our students can flourish.

Our Ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong Foundations: Good English and Maths skills, to GCSE Grade C minimum or equivalent.
  • Administrative Experience: Previous experience in an administrative role.
  • Confidentiality & Professionalism: Experience handling confidential information.
  • Organisation & Time Management: Experience of meeting tight deadlines.

The Office Team at Abbeyfield School is a close-knit and dedicated team that plays a key role in supporting the wider life of the school. From coordinating school events and managing communications to assisting students, families and staff, the team works together to ensure everything runs effectively behind the scenes.
