We were established in 1943 and have continued to strengthen and evolve over the years. A great opportunity has arisen for a skilled and experienced commercial Body / Coach Builder to join our team. As a company, we specialise in both building and repairing commercial bodies, but we also offer a diverse range of services including metal fabrication, general body repairs, accident damage and paintwork, vehicle electrics and so much more, offering a varied work environment where no two days are the same.

We work with various materials, such as steel, aluminium, plastic composites, wood and GRP products, utilising skills including drilling, welding, grinding, folding and cutting of materials.

Duties Include:

  • Building, repairing and modifying commercial vehicle bodies.
  • Fabrication and welding.
  • Completing appropriate paperwork associated with job including time records.
  • Using various tools and machinery.
  • Preparing vehicles for painting.
  • Repairing minor dents, scratches, and other imperfections on vehicle surfaces.

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in body/coach building or commercial paint prep or a similar industry (construction or workshop based) is essential, with ideally a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in metal fabrication and welding, vehicle electrics, paint and repair, CNC plasma cutting and a forklift certificate would be a distinct advantage.
  • Good time keeping and ability to work to build time frames.
  • Awareness of and adherence to all housekeeping and Health and Safety Regulations.
  • The completion of paperwork associated with jobs and time records is essential.
  • Ability to work as a team or independently.
  • Ability to paint would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Verbal communication.
  • Numeracy skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • HGV licence would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Ability to work from technical drawings.

Working hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday – Thursday, and 8:00am to 3:30pm, Friday, with optional overtime available including Saturday mornings. Part-time or full-time position, depending on the candidate.
