The Stage Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the smooth backstage operation of the live show.
Working closely with the Show Company Manager and Performance Manager, youβll help prepare the cast,
space, and show materials for performance, ensuring transitions and backstage flow are safe, timely, and
seamless.
β Assist with pre-show and post-show setup and breakdown
β Support cast with movement backstage and transitions during performances
β Prepare props, set pieces, and backstage areas for each performance
β Monitor backstage cues and relay information between departments as needed
β Help coordinate cast movement and ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time
β Maintain backstage cleanliness, safety, and organisation
β Report any issues with props, set, or costumes to relevant departments
β Participate in pre-show briefings and follow instructions from the Performance Manager or Show
Company Manager
β Be familiar with the show running order and emergency procedures
Background & Experience:
β Previous backstage, stage crew, or live event experience is desirable
β Understanding of live performance environments and show discipline
β Comfortable working in dimly lit, fast-moving backstage spaces
β Excellent communicator and team player
β Calm under pressure and quick to respond to changes
β Highly organised and detail-oriented
β Physically confident moving small props or set elements
β Flexible availability (evenings and weekends essential)
β Keen interest in theatre, immersive performance, or live entertainment
