The Company Performance Manager is responsible for the smooth day-to-day operation of the cast and live performance. This role champions cast welfare, performance standards, and operational consistency, ensuring the show runs safely, on time, and at the highest creative level.
Scope & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily cast operations
- Act as primary contact for cast welfare, scheduling, and HR matters
- Manage call times, rehearsals, performance reports, and backstage coordination
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the show, including cues, effects, and actor tracks
- Support rehearsals, understudies, sickness cover, and new cast training
- Ensure cast wellbeing, safe backstage environments, and policy compliance
- Lead pre-show briefings and end-of-show handovers
- Uphold creative integrity and performance standards through regular show watches and notes
- Liaise with creative, technical, and management teams to ensure smooth show delivery
- Maintain accurate show documentation and support creative updates, promotions, and Duty Management
Background & Experience
- Experience in company or stage management within live performance or theatre
- Strong understanding of cue-to-cue rehearsals, blocking, and performance direction
- Proven experience managing cast and crew logistics
- Experience working closely with creative teams and artists
- Minimum of 3 years in a performance or creative management role
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and feedback delivery skills
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and self-driven
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
