Elliotts is an independent builders’ merchant serving customers across the South of England. Founded in 1842, we remain family owned and focused on doing things properly. We keep things straightforward - know our customers, work safely, deliver reliably, and support each other as a team. Decisions are made locally, close to the work. The business is led by Tom, the great-great-great grandson of the founder. That long‑term, hands‑on approach shapes how we operate and how we look after our people. Many of our team build long careers here. It’s a stable, supportive environment where people take pride in their work and back each other day to day.

We are an established independent timber merchant supplying quality timber and timber products to trade and retail customers. We pride ourselves on providing expert advice, reliable service and building long‑term relationships with our customers. • Raise purchase orders and liaise with suppliers.
  • Support stock management and maintain accurate stock records.
  • Ensure Chain of Custody procedures and documentation are maintained.
  • Follow and promote Health & Safety procedures across the branch.
  • Work closely with the warehouse and yard teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled efficiently.
  • Provide general operational support to help the branch meet customer expectations.
About You

You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience in internal sales within a timber merchant, builders' merchant or related industry.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • A good understanding of timber products or a willingness to develop your product knowledge.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good IT skills and experience using sales or merchanting systems.
  • A positive, flexible attitude and a willingness to support colleagues across the branch.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary.
  • Company pension.
  • Full product training and ongoing development.
