We are seeking a Sustainability Consultant (4+ years’ experience) to lead and deliver sustainability strategies across a diverse portfolio of UK projects within our London Fitzrovia office. Based in our collaborative hub at the Society Building, you will take ownership of BREEAM delivery, guide clients through complex planning requirements, and embed sustainability into design from the outset. This is a high-impact role with real influence - shaping project outcomes, building client relationships, and supporting team development.
Key Responsibilities:

- Apply technical expertise, problem-solving, and site awareness to integrate sustainable design solutions effectively.
- Produce high-quality, concise reports that clearly communicate sustainability strategies and outcomes.
- Strategic Consultancy & Client Engagement
- Provide expert sustainability advice to clients and multidisciplinary teams, embedding sustainable design from early stages.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, seeking feedback and identifying opportunities for further work.
- Support the preparation of fee proposals and contribute to business development activity.
- Planning, Compliance & Risk Management
- Navigate UK regulations and London planning policies to produce robust sustainability and energy strategies.
- Manage project risks proactively, maintaining strong commercial and contractual awareness.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, including Health & Safety and CDM regulations.
- Project Management & Communication
- Take full ownership of project delivery, including planning, budgets, timelines, and quality assurance.
- Deliver clear, confident presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively across teams, building strong internal and external relationships.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Act as a key member of the team, taking responsibility for line management where required.
- Support and develop junior team members through coaching, mentoring, and delegation.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
- Continuous Improvement & Sustainability Advocacy
- Act as an ambassador for sustainable design, both internally and externally.
- Continue to develop expertise in LCA, embodied carbon, and circular economy principles.
- Engage with industry developments and work towards (or maintain) professional accreditation.
Qualifications:
- 4–5 years’ experience within a UK-based consultancy in the built environment.
- Strong track record delivering BREEAM assessments independently.
- Experience working across multiple building typologies.
- In-depth, applied knowledge of London planning policies.
- Understanding of embodied carbon and life cycle assessment methodologies.
- Awareness of circular design principles and their practical application.
- Advanced Excel skills.
