The Role
We are looking for an Associate Structural Engineer to join our Wimbledon team. As an Associate Structural Engineer at Elliott Wood, you will jointly manage a team of engineers to deliver projects to a high standard with creativity, ensuring contribution to overall company profit. You will have experience being client facing as well as leading on complex and unique structural projects.
Responsibilities
- Management of a team of staff – including resource allocation, performance management (including appraisals), promotion and recognition.
- Project management, including appointments, fees, workload allocation, and project checking to ensure technical rigour, quality and creativity in proposed solutions.
- Financial management - ensure thorough financial management and profitability of each project.
- Strategy – contribute to strategy, organisational development and assist Directors and Partners to develop goals and targets.
- Provide monthly update reports for monitoring, forecasting and planning purposes.
- Nurture existing client relationships and develop new business (in conjunction with Associate Directors and Directors and the EW CRM programme).
- Maintain professional qualifications and develop technical ability to match industry best practice.
- Act as a Mentor to allocated graduates/junior members of staff.
- Assist with CPD by preparing and presenting occasional internal seminars on appropriate subjects.
- Contribution to either Associate Technical R&D group or Business Development group to actively support moving the business forward.
Skills and Experience Required
- 10+ years experience working on complex structural engineering projects.
- Chartered or working towards chartership.
- Experience with financial control of projects and fees.
- Business Development.
- Project management skills - manage time, resources, costs.
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Strong client facing experience.
