Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Unix System Administrator to join an IT infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Unix-based systems and servers, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. You will collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support infrastructure needs and provide technical expertise to end-users.
Key Responsibilities:
System Management:
· Install, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux-based systems and servers.
· Monitor system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
· Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and security updates.
· Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues promptly.
Security & Compliance:
· Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
· Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions.
· Ensure compliance with security policies and industry best practices.
Collaboration & Support:
· Work closely with network, applications, and other IT teams to support infrastructure.
· Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and IT staff.
· Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Must-Have:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
· Proven experience as a Unix/Linux System Administrator or similar role.
· Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux OS and command-line tools.
· Experience with system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
· Basic understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Nice-to-Have:
· Certifications in Unix/Linux administration (e.g., RHCE, LPIC).
· Familiarity with scripting (Bash, Python) for automation.
· Knowledge of virtualization/cloud platforms (VMware, AWS, Azure).
