Overview & Responsibilities
Lead the development of regional strategic sourcing strategies for the assigned region. Categories include large spend across diverse commodities. Work with the supply chain team and other functional groups (sales, engineering, projects, etc.) to identify spend forecasts, assess current suppliers, and determine needs for new suppliers. Develop sourcing strategies accordingly and negotiate strategic contracts with suppliers in each commodity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and collaborate with cross‑functional, global and/or local teams to develop robust category and commodity strategies.
- Coordinate with regional procurement teams to implement sourcing strategies and gather feedback.
- Collaborate with global supply‑chain development teams to identify and develop new and existing suppliers to fill gaps in category and commodity strategies.
- Lead, develop and implement global and/or local cost‑reduction programs.
- Evaluate recommendations from cross‑functional personnel regarding new sources of supply.
- Lead negotiations of strategic contracts, including price, quality and delivery terms.
- Travel to supplier facilities to build relationships, conduct negotiations and evaluate performance (up to 25% travel).
Leadership / Mentoring
Act as an individual contributor with responsibility to assist managers in mentoring and developing buyers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; master’s degree in business or finance preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of buying experience.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience and proven leadership.
- Excellent background in all phases of procurement and strong financial/commercial acumen.
- Excellent knowledge of Elliott and Ebara purchasing policies and procedures.
