Job Summary
Elliot Thomas Consulting is working with an ambitious and growing multidisciplinary consultancy that is strategically looking to appoint a Fire Engineer to eventually lead its Fire Engineering division.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Fire Engineer with facade experience to join at an exciting stage of growth, with a clear pathway to help develop and ultimately lead the division.
You'll have the freedom to work fully remotely, provided you're based in the North East, with flexibility around site visits and client meetings.
Alongside a competitive package and private healthcare, you'll have the opportunity to shape the growth of the service, develop client relationships and take on genuine leadership responsibility as the division expands including heading up the division.
The Role
- Undertake fire safety assessments of external wall and facade systems.
- Review facade construction, materials and cladding systems.
- Provide technical advice on facade remediation and building safety.
- Prepare technical reports, assessments and recommendations.
- Review drawings, specifications and technical information.
- Undertake site inspections and investigations.
- Work with architects, surveyors, contractors and other consultants.
- Support technical proposals, written submissions and client-facing content.
- Contribute to the development and growth of the Facades and Fire Engineering service.
About You
- We're looking for a Fire Engineer with: Experience in facade fire safety, external wall systems or building safety.
- Strong knowledge of facade construction and cladding systems.
- Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and fire safety guidance.
- Experience producing technical reports and client-facing advice.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Relevant Fire Engineering, Building Engineering, Construction or related qualification. IFE, IEng or CEng status would be advantageous but isn't essential.
