Class 2 Hiab Driver

Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Class 2 Hiab Driver to join our busy Brockley branch. This is a full time, permanent role. We offer a competitive salary, 28 days holiday, life assurance & EAP, discretionary bonus, Cycle scheme and Long Service Awards.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various locations.

This role requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to all driving regulations.

As a HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of our products during transport.

Hours:

Monday to Friday 7.00am – 4.30pm

Some Saturdays 7.30am-10.30am.

Responsibilities:

• Delivery and collection of roofing and associated materials to site and respective suppliers, by means of mechanical and/or manual loading and unloading
• Clearance of second hand materials and rubbish from site
• Loading and unloading customers, suppliers and own vehicles
• Assisting customers with enquiries
• Responsibility for routine vehicle inspections on a daily basis
• Weekly inspections recorded on the official Company report document
• Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the vehicle at all times
• Maintain all statutory records
• Act in a courteous manner to customers and other road users

Skills:

• Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar commercial driving role is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
• Ability to operate flatbed vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
• A valid commercial driving licence is essential, along with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.
