We have specialists in many areas of legal practice. Our busy Probate Department is experiencing a period of business growth and is currently inviting applications from qualified / part-qualified candidates for the following position: Paralegal.
We are looking for an experienced, professional Paralegal who can demonstrate their enthusiasm and personality while managing a caseload of wills, powers of attorney, administration of estates and associated probate documents, using specialised case management software. You will be joining an established Probate team in which you could really make the role your own while also developing your reputation and ability in support of your future legal career.
Our ideal candidate will already have had some ‘hands‑on’ legal sector work experience, preferably gained in a Probate / Private Client law environment. We may consider applicants without experience, but you will need a law degree (or CILEx / equivalent) and/or you may also be studying for the LPC or SQE. However, you will also need to be convincing regarding your genuine desire to work in the Probate law environment and not just to ‘get a foot in the door’. For those candidates with long‑term career aspirations, there are realistic opportunities for progression.
Benefits will include:
- Attractive starting salary, subject to relevant legal sector experience
- Online recognition and rewards platform, with retail discounts and 24/7 EAP
- Pension scheme with employer’s contributions
- Generous annual holiday entitlement, including a day off for your birthday
- Support for CPD / education where appropriate
- Genuine career opportunities in a fast‑growing legal practice where ‘work/life’ balance really matters and flexibility is the norm
- A friendly, professional office environment in Derby city centre, with shops, amenities, car parking, and established public transport connections.
Elliot Mather LLP is one of the foremost legal firms in the East Midlands, employing around 180 colleagues across our offices in Chesterfield, Mansfield, Derby and Nottingham. We are an equal opportunities employer and fully committed to promoting and protecting the physical and mental health and well‑being of all our employees.
Please send us your up to date CV together with a covering letter that includes details of your current salary and benefits package, and notice period (where applicable) by email to: hr@elliotmather.co.uk
