Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager – Events and Security to join the team. Location: Remote with occasional travel to offices and sites in Stirling, Edinburgh or Inverness. Salary: Grade 5 - £50,386 - £57,668 per annum. Job Type/Hours: 24 Month FTC contract – 35 hours per week.

Senior Project Manager – The Role:

Our client is seeking a proactive and organised project manager to join their team in a role that supports strategic heritage and events within the public historic environment sector. You will contribute to the planning, delivery and ensuring the security of projects and events that help protect, manage and promote historic sites. You will work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to ensure the public’s safety whilst balancing conservation with access and engagement.

Senior Project Manager – Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development, planning and delivery of the security aspects of projects that align with organisational priorities around conservation, research and public engagement.
  • Coordinate and maintain documentation, data or records relevant to the role, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise with colleagues, partners and stakeholders across sectors to share information, build relationships, and ensure effective project delivery.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, briefings, guidance materials or other communications to support decision-making and stakeholder engagement.
  • Help monitor and evaluate activities or outputs, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting continuous learning within the team.

Senior Project Manager – You:

  • Previous professional experience in security management or implementing physical security projects.
  • Proven ability to prepare business cases and manage projects/programmes effectively.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation abilities.
  • Experience leading or coordinating multi-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Previous experience handling multi-site projects.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing broad, self-directed projects.
  • Skilled at prioritising tasks and working efficiently in fast-paced environments.
  • Track record of contributing to service improvement projects and delivering successful business cases.
