A Scottish University is looking for a skilled and driven Electrical Engineer to join their team. This position is ideal for someone with solid technical expertise who wants to support projects in a fast-paced, safety-conscious setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Carrying out wiring tasks and commissioning activities for electrical networks, power electronics, electric machines, LV protection systems, switchgear, and associated control equipment
- Creating, defining, and organising technical specifications to meet project objectives, including managing procurement processes and overseeing successful delivery
- Shaping and implementing effective electrical maintenance strategies aimed at ensuring consistent system performance and reliability
- Using a strong understanding of health and safety regulations within the energy supply industry, with particular focus on LV and HV operational requirements
- Working closely with colleagues, clients, and external partners to achieve high-quality technical results
- Contributing actively throughout project execution, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety
- HNC/HND in a relevant discipline i.e. electrical or electronic engineering and equivalent relevant experience is essential.
- Extensive technical knowledge in LV protection, control systems, and electrical commissioning
- A track record of overseeing projects from initial concept and design stages through to on-site implementation
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities, enabling effective engagement with stakeholders at all levels
- A proven commitment to safe working practices, consistently demonstrating behaviours that uphold the highest operational safety standards
- Well-developed negotiation and people skills that facilitate teamwork and help prevent issues before they arise
- Capable of working autonomously while successfully handling multiple priorities
- An individual who brings enthusiasm, positivity, and resilience, supported by excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to both safety and delivery
