Salary: £52,150 - £59,687 (Grade 5)

Job Type/Hours: 2 Year FTC, Full Time, 35 hours per week

Location: Edinburgh Hybrid 2 days per week in the office

The Role:

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Employee Relations Partner to play a key role in delivering a high-quality HR service across the organisation. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will lead on employee relations and policy development, ensuring best practice, compliance, and a people-focused approach. This is a strategic and hands-on role where you will drive improvements in employee engagement, support organisational culture, and provide expert guidance on complex ER matters. You will also lead and upskill a team of 3, ensuring consistent and effective delivery of HR services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on employee relations case management, ensuring matters are handled effectively, fairly, and in line with policy and legislation.
  • Develop, review, and implement people policies, working closely with key stakeholders and trade union representatives.
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to managers on employment law, policy, and best practice.
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation, supporting a collaborative and proactive HR approach.
  • Analyse people data and trends to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead on equality, inclusion, and employee engagement initiatives, ensuring an inclusive and supportive workplace.
  • Contribute to the delivery of wider people strategies, including wellbeing, leadership development, and organisational culture.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team to deliver a high-quality HR service.

You:

  • Proven experience in a senior employee relations or HR role within a complex or regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and experience handling complex ER casework.
  • Demonstrated experience in policy development and working in partnership with trade unions.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with experience managing and developing teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset, with experience using data to drive insights and improvements.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience within the public sector or similarly complex organisations (desirable).
