1 x maternity cover based at Knighton Fields, this will be for 1 year or until the post-holder returns, whichever is sooner We are seeking passionate and dedicated Class Teachers to join our team. You will play a key role in delivering a differentiated and engaging curriculum, supporting students' academic and personal development, and contributing to the wider life of the college. As a teacher at Ellesmere College, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences across a range of age groups and needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Lead by example in behaviour management and professional standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum continuity and innovation.
  • Create a communication-friendly classroom environment that supports all learners.
  • Use ICT effectively to enhance learning.

Qualifications

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status and a relevant degree.
  • Has experience across Post-16, Secondary, Primary or EYFS settings.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Has a strong understanding of inclusive education and SEN.
  • Is resilient, flexible, and enthusiastic about working with children.
  • Is willing to undertake ongoing professional development, including Team Teach and First Aid training.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience working with pupils with Communication & Interaction Difficulties.
  • A qualification in Special Educational Needs.
  • Experience in line management.
  • A sense of humour and a positive, problem-solving attitude.
  • Experience of teaching at a special school setting (desirable)
  • Evidence of being an excellent classroom teacher (essential)
  • Ambition to teach special education to the highest level (essential)
