Overview
Therapy Assistant – 6 Month Contract.
Salary: £23,874 – £24,964 (depending upon experience)
Location: ellenor, DA11 7HQ
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Our Wellbeing department enables people with progressive life limiting conditions to live as independently as possible. Working alongside therapists and nurses, you will carry out intervention plans with patients and carers in order to maximise function, wellbeing and quality of life.
ellenor is a hospice charity in Gravesend providing palliative and end-of-life care within the local community. At ellenor, we value inclusivity and focus on providing high-quality services with compassion and care.

Responsibilities
- To carry out therapeutic interventions as instructed by a qualified therapist, ensuring all sessions are recorded
- To conduct small group activities, as directed by the Therapists
- To perform clerical and housekeeping tasks that support the efficient running of the Therapeutic Activity Groups
- To work under the supervision of qualified therapy staff to undertake a variety of clinical and non-clinical tasks within the inpatient ward, outpatient setting and community
- To recognise role limitations and refer on to other professionals as appropriate
Essential requirements
- Understanding of the impact of illness and disability on an individual
- Ability to work without direct supervision and use own initiative
- Good verbal and written communication
- Non-judgmental approach to be able to work with people from a variety of backgrounds
- Have empathy and understanding of issues encountered by people with palliative care needs
