About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team ellenor for a 12 month fixed term contract as an Individual Giving Officer. You’ll build strong relationships within the community we serve, be a collaborative team player, and contribute to growing and developing ellenor’s diverse Individual Giving programme. Working closely with the Senior Individual Giving Officer and as part of the wider income generation team you’ll support on several key fundraising activities working towards agreed income targets and leading on a variety of cash appeals and direct marketing campaigns. ellenor is a hospice charity in Gravesend providing palliative and end-of-life care within the local community. Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Collaborate with the Senior Individual Giving Officer and Individual Giving Manager to support with the planning and delivery of a wide range of direct marketing campaigns.
- Work with the Senior Individual Giving Officer and Individual Giving Manager to develop and implement a stewardship programme including regular communications, mailings and emails to enhance lifetime value and continued financial support.
- Draft personalised thank you and email communications for individual donors and campaigns.
- Play a vital role in enhancing In Memory giving to ellenor by fostering meaningful connections and managing regular communications with those supporters fundraising in memory via platforms such as MuchLoved as well as bespoke in memory products.
- Build relationships with new and existing supporters and donors, ensuring excellent levels of supporter care and stewardship.
- Regularly coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers, building and maintaining excellent relationships.
- Deliver stewardship activities through mailings and digital engagement as well as individual communications with supporters.
- Support donor telephone campaigns such as ellenor’s annual “Thankathon”.
- Create engaging content, plan and deliver a monthly e-newsletter to supporters.
- Communicate with supporters via email and phone professionally and empathetically.
Essential requirements for the role:
- Experience of managing multiple tasks and priorities, working to agreed deadlines whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of stakeholders both internal and external.
- Experience in customer service or supporter relations with a passion for building excellent relationships.
- Experience managing and maintaining accurate data or customer records.
- Previous experience of handling customer/supporter enquiries and complaints.
- Experience producing digital communications using platforms such as Mailjet or Mailchimp (Desirable).
- Experience of working within a charity or fundraising environment, a hospice or volunteer organisation (Desirable).
- Previous experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Database (Desirable).
