Job Summary: The Assessments Officer is responsible for the efficient coordination and administration of all aspects of the examination process within ESL. This includes managing examination schedules, coordinating with relevant stakeholders, ensuring compliance with partners' examination regulations and policies, and providing support to candidates throughout the examination period. The Assessment Officer will play a critical role in evaluating, analysing, and reporting on various data sets to support the organisation's strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong Excel skills and a keen eye for detail, ensuring accurate and insightful data analysis to inform decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examination Planning and Coordination: Develop and implement detailed examination schedules, ensuring optimal use of resources. Coordinate examination logistics, including the distribution of examination materials according to ESL’s partnership university guidelines.
- Policy Compliance: Stay updated on partners' examination policies and guidelines to ensure compliance. Implement and communicate examination policies and procedures.
- Student Support: Provide information and support to candidates regarding examination processes. Handle inquiries and concerns related to examinations promptly and professionally.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of examination-related information, including candidate details, results, and feedback. Generate reports as required for internal and external stakeholders. Generate and organise statistics on assessment records for all ESL students.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with academic departments, faculty, and other relevant stakeholders to coordinate examination activities. Liaise with external examination boards, ensuring smooth communication and adherence to external regulations and policies.
- Technology Utilization: Utilize examination management systems and software for scheduling and result processing. Ensure the security and confidentiality of examination-related data.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree (preferred in a relevant field).
- Exceptional skills in analysing data on MS Excel. Utilize advanced Excel functions, including but not limited to VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros, and complex formulas, to analyse and interpret data.
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data sets, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Previous experience in examination administration or a related role is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Proficiency in using examination software and Microsoft Office Suite.
