The role
At Elizabeth Scarlett, we are scaling our presence in the UK and US with the ambitious goal of raising £2 Million for Wildlife Conservation by 2030. We are looking for passionate, driven individuals eager to make an extraordinary impact and help us achieve this goal. As our Design Assistant, you will be responsible for transforming Elizabeth's hand-painted watercolour artworks into digital CADs for production. Working closely with Elizabeth and the Design team, you will develop precise technical files for embroidery and print production, create repeat patterns, and adapt approved designs across our product range. You are a meticulous and creative individual with excellent technical skills who can faithfully represent Elizabeth's unique artistic style while ensuring designs are optimized for our production processes.
What will I be doing?
- Convert Elizabeth's watercolour paintings and sketches into polished digital CAD files for embroidery, print, and product applications.
- Create and develop patterns and prints from original artwork, maintaining Elizabeth's distinctive style.
- Adapt approved designs across multiple product categories, considering different shapes, scales, and production requirements.
- Ensure colour accuracy and consistency across all digital files according to our brand standards.
- Work closely with the Design and Production teams to prepare production-ready technical specifications for global manufacture.
- Troubleshoot technical design issues and suggest creative solutions.
- Stay updated on CAD software developments and digital design techniques relevant to luxury accessories.
- Maintain an organized digital asset library of all CAD files and design elements.
- Assist with creating presentation materials for internal reviews and supplier communications.
What do I need to bring?
- 2+ years experience in a similar CAD/art-working role, ideally in bags, accessories, or textiles.
- Portfolio demonstrating technical CAD skills and pattern development.
- Ability to work in our Potters Bar (EN6) studio 3 days a week.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Experience creating patterns and adapting designs across different product formats.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong colour-matching skills.
- Understanding of luxury product standards and quality expectations.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple projects.
- Collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
