We are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Administrator to take ownership of end-to-end payroll processes within a fast-paced environment. This is a standalone role, requiring someone confident managing payroll activity independently, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely payments.

The position is heavily focused on timesheet collection and payroll processing, alongside pension administration, statutory payments and liaison with external payroll providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collecting, checking and processing high volumes of weekly timesheets
  • Submitting accurate payroll data to external payroll providers
  • Processing holiday pay, including manual holiday top-ups
  • Enrolling new starters into pension schemes and submitting pension schedules
  • Handling payroll amendments, advances and adjustments
  • Processing P45s and managing leavers
  • Uploading and processing BACS payments
  • Managing tax code updates, student loan notifications, DEAs and AOEs
  • Processing statutory payments including SSP
  • Producing and submitting RTIs
  • Preparing and maintaining internal payroll reports
  • Acting as a key point of contact for payroll queries from employees, managers, and external payroll partners
Experience Required
  • Proven experience in a payroll-focused role (standalone experience desirable)
  • Strong background in high-volume timesheet processing
  • Confident working with payroll systems and external payroll providers
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good understanding of payroll legislation, statutory payments, and compliance
  • Ability to manage deadlines and workload independently in a busy environment
