We are currently recruiting for an experienced Communications Specialist to join a well-established and highly reputable organisation on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave. This is a varied, hands-on and fast-paced role, ideal for someone who can hit the ground running and confidently manage PR, media relations, social media, internal communications and digital content. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting communications activity across multiple sites throughout the North East and Yorkshire region.

The Role

  • Write engaging press releases, website content, social media posts and internal communications
  • Manage PR activity, including media outreach and relationship building with press contacts
  • Conduct interviews with employees, stakeholders and project teams to gather content for PR opportunities and case studies
  • Coordinate photography opportunities and media visits on site
  • Manage and grow LinkedIn and wider social media activity
  • Support website updates and digital content management
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to gain approvals and ensure consistent brand messaging
  • Travel to various sites across the North East and Yorkshire as required

About You

  • Previous experience within Communications, PR or Marketing
  • Strong PR experience is essential, including press release writing and media outreach
  • Excellent written communication and content creation skills
  • Confident speaking with and interviewing stakeholders to gather information and create engaging content
  • Experience managing social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines within a busy environment
  • Proactive, adaptable and happy to work independently when required
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel is essential
