We are recruiting for an ambitious and self-motivated Warehouse Operative to join our client in a growing team in a primarily lone working role, supporting the day-to-day running of warehouse and inventory operations. This position will involve managing stock, maintaining high standards within the warehouse environment and carrying out driving duties for local deliveries and collections when required. We are looking for someone who wants to make the role their own, bring ideas to improve processes and develop with the business, with a clear opportunity to progress into a future supervisory or management position as the team grows. Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day running of the warehouse department in a lone working environment.
- Receive, check, book in and accurately store incoming stock.
- Pick, pack and prepare parts and equipment for engineers and customers.
- Maintain accurate stock records and carry out regular stock checks and inventory audits.
- Ensure the stores area remains clean, organised and compliant with health & safety standards.
- Carry out local deliveries and collections using company vehicles when required.
- Liaise with suppliers, engineers and internal departments to support operational requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or ordering requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve stores processes, organisation and efficiency.
- Support the future growth and development of the stores function as the business expands.
- Work independently while maintaining high levels of reliability, organisation and accountability.
- Assist with general warehouse and operational duties as required by the business.
Experience required:
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or stock control role.
- Full clean driving licence required.
- Ability to work independently in a lone working environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic IT skills and confidence using stock systems.
- Reliable, self-motivated and proactive approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
