We are currently recruiting for an experienced Communications Specialist to join a well-established and highly reputable organisation on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave. This is a varied, hands-on and fast-paced role, ideal for someone who can hit the ground running and confidently manage PR, media relations, social media, internal communications and digital content. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting communications activity across multiple sites throughout the North East and Yorkshire region.
The Role
- Write engaging press releases, website content, social media posts and internal communications
- Manage PR activity, including media outreach and relationship building with press contacts
- Conduct interviews with employees, stakeholders and project teams to gather content for PR opportunities and case studies
- Coordinate photography opportunities and media visits on site
- Manage and grow LinkedIn and wider social media activity
- Support website updates and digital content management
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to gain approvals and ensure consistent brand messaging
- Travel to various sites across the North East and Yorkshire as required
About You
- Previous experience within Communications, PR or Marketing
- Strong PR experience is essential, including press release writing and media outreach
- Excellent written communication and content creation skills
- Confident speaking with and interviewing stakeholders to gather information and create engaging content
- Experience managing social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines within a busy environment
- Proactive, adaptable and happy to work independently when required
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel is essential
